Hello! I know a few people from here submitted their lists in my recent poll on the 100 Best Actors and Actors of All Time, so I’ll be sharing my list here! I’ll start off the the honorable mentions: First, those who only received one mention across all 286 list submissions:
And then, everyone who received 2 or more voted but did not have enough total points to make the top 100:
Stay tuned for the official list, to be posted soon!September 10, 2020 at 9:19 am #1203697089
Sissy Spacek out of the top 100 is not a good startSeptember 10, 2020 at 10:15 am #1203697175
Adam Scott has 25? WOW. That one I didn’t even think of for my list but pleasantly surprisedSeptember 10, 2020 at 10:49 am #1203697257
Jessica Lange’s number surprised me tbh. Would have assumed she would sail inSeptember 10, 2020 at 11:35 am #1203697391

Just noticed Burt Lancaster is #299. Another huge snub of the top 100.September 10, 2020 at 3:23 pm #1203697874
Peter O’Toole should be easily among the top 10/15 actors of all time.
This is insane.September 10, 2020 at 3:43 pm #1203697920
Mess.September 10, 2020 at 4:37 pm #1203698003
That moment you realize people love Adam Scott more than Patrick Stewart.
FYC Oscars: Soul (Best Picture, Original Screenplay, and Original Score), Delroy Lindo (Best Actor), Chadwick Boseman (Best Actor), Viola Davis (Best Actress), Paul Raci (Best Supporting Actor)
FYC Golden Globes (TV): Ted Lasso (Best Comedy Series), Jason Sudekis (Best Actor in a Comedy Series), Hannah Waddingham (Best Supporting Actress), The Boys (Best Drama Series), Anthony Starr (Best Actor in a Drama Series)September 10, 2020 at 6:55 pm #1203698217
Happy to say only one of my top 25 only had one mention. Not surprised though, the legend who practically invented screen acting…Lillian Gish is way forgotten or never even seen by so many. A little disappointed in how many of my choices didn’t make the top 100 though.September 10, 2020 at 11:39 pm #1203698439
I’ll be honest, there are dozens of names in this leftover / bubbling under list that I would never have expected to rank so low. Legendary, iconic Hollywood giants who have shaped movie acting and the world as we know it. Much of the bubbling under reads like The Greatest Actors of All Time. I feel like the actual Top 100 is going to read more like The Greatest Actors of 2020.September 11, 2020 at 6:21 am #1203698625

This is what you get when you poll random people on the internet. All recency bias (because that’s all most of them have seen) and no sense of history. Colour me unsurprised.
