Damn, OneRepublic’s really gone downhill with their music.

ReplyCopy URLMay 18, 2022 at 3:34 pm #1204955943I’m very surprised at how much the Best Picture talk is circulating among online pundits for this movie. I had little interest in it, but all the trusted names seem to be raving about it

It’s projected to do 100M domestic on opening which is amazing and the critics are loving it (97% certified fresh in RT and 81 in Metacritic). If Dune could make it last year, this one with better reviews and much higher box office potential can too.

It’s too early. It’s May. Dune was October. And Top Gun 2 doesn’t sound Oscar Style. Anyway, we will see
ReplyCopy URLMay 21, 2022 at 7:47 am #1204959017I never thought I would see the day a Top Gun sequel is getting Oscar buzz considering the first movie was mediocre as hell.

Every second film gets a standing ovation these days. Especially premiers (ask Rocketman) But yes, the film will be good.

it looks so fucking good

if a film can’t match Pan’s Labyrinth’s 22-minute Standing O it’s weak sauce to me. The bar is high at Cannes for that indicator / nothing has come close so so far.
