Wow that trailer sure caught me and others! Can’t wait for it! Thoughts?
I think everyone agrees that everyone is supporting. A true ensemble as the trailer puts it.
I see Rylance and Strong get in for supporting though I wonder if Sacha Baren Cohen can sneak in.Reply"We will always have Paris"
September 23, 2020 at 11:42 pm #1203731280Really anticipating this one. I loved both the teaser and official trailer. Rooting for all actors, especially Yahya, Eddie and Jeremy. This might win SAG.

Mateen (Supporting)September 24, 2020 at 5:39 pm #1203732787Experts are pointing out that the likelihood of this film’s chances at outright winning may depend on the election (it hasn’t been mentioned a lot but the results of the election will weigh heavily on voters’ minds as they vote, even subconsciously).
ReplyCopy URLSeptember 28, 2020 at 5:42 pm #1203740118We got more reviews from critics about the film. Ranges around the mid 70s on metacritic at best and Rotten Tomatoes has it at 93%. The IMDb score is 7.0, but that’s irrelevant as the website is infamous for doing early reviewers. Thoughts?

October 15, 2020 at 3:42 pm #1203781249I don’t have much to do tomorrow so I’m probably going to be watching this when it drops.
Although the critical response has not been as great as I expected it to be (on MC) I’m still excited to see all these actors on screen together and finally watch our first sure BP contender

It looks good, I’m excited to see it, I’m rooting for my boy Jeremy, I’m going to watch it tomorrow, review will be posted on this thread either tomorrow or Saturday. Thank you, good night.

October 16, 2020 at 2:41 am #1203781813Just watched it. They are definitely winning sag ensemble and screenplay. Maybe even best picture
ReplyCopy URLOctober 16, 2020 at 3:36 am #1203781840I just watched it as well. I definitely see a Sag Ensemble win and my standouts were Langella and Rylance.
October 16, 2020 at 8:20 am #1203782133Holy shit, is this getting nominated for Editing! The Academy is gonna eat up the way recordings and dialogues are cross-cut with the flashbacks. Screenplay is also a sure bet, I can see Sorkin happening in Director as well. Acting I’m not so sure of. My personal favorite would be Redmayne, followed my Rylance and Langella in that order. I think what many have predicted might happen and they all cancel each other out, safe for maybe Rylance as some kind of consensus pick. The others are still a big maybe for me.

October 16, 2020 at 8:51 am #1203782194Strong undoubtedly gave the worst performance of the cast. Langella and Rylance were the standouts, which makes sense as they’re also the most experienced. Overall the film was ok but pretty mundane.
