I was just thinking about Laurie Metcalf and realized that she was nominated for an Oscar, a Tony, and an Emmy all in the same calendar year (for Lady Bird, Three Tall Women, and Roseanne respectively). It’s quite the feat, and I was just wondering who else had achieved that? Surely there are others, right? They don’t need to have won any of them; I’m just curious to see what other performers have achieved such success in such a variety of work in around just one year. Is there anyone who had done big screen, small screen, and stage in one year that should have achieved this and was snubbed for one or more?

Bob Fosse won an Oscar, Tony and Emmy all in the same year for directing.

Metcalf can get another Tony and Emmy nod this year. If she wins the Tony then she would have won 3 years in a row

    FYC 2020 EMMYS

COMEDY- SCHITTS CREEK in all categories, Maya Rudolph, Eddie Murphy

DRAMA- Killing Eve in all categories, HBC, Cicely Tyson, The Crown in directing

LIMITED- UNBELIEVABLE, Normal People in writing and directing, Toni Collette, Tituss Burgess

    FYC OSCARS- Amy Adams

Very impressive, although that isn’t technically a triple crown.

There have been some double crown wins.

Ellen Burstyn won a Tony and Oscar within months of each other. She actually missed the Oscars because she was in the play on Broadway.
