I know the movie is old news at this point but I do want to wonder/ask if there’s any momentum for this movie outside the obvious Animated Feature nomination.
Kind of reminds me of Zootopia, how it came out early in the season. And Zootopia won that Oscar, right?
Wonder if there will be nods for a Song by Billie Eilish and Finneas, and the musical score by Ludwig Göransson.
Also wonder on the outside chance of a Original Screenplay nod.

If you put it like that I’ll just leave my delusional hope in Ludwig getting a nod for the score.

It will be most likely swept under the rug. A Good Dinosaur/Inside Out or Cars 3/Coco situation. Often happens when two Pixar films release in the same year. Plus the Academy loves Toy Story.
I think Turning Red will get a nomination for Best Original Song. Probably “Nobody Like U” since its the most prominent.

Lightyear’s social media reactions aren’t too hot. Could be more like a Finding Dory situation.

Really? I heard the opposite about the social media reactions. Either way, I still think it will be the more “popular” choice over Turning Red in terms of audience and box office.

Yep I agree, which is why I have my icon from the movie.
Still curious about Pinocchio though

Domee Shi only made a short movie, Bao, before Turning Red. And she won an Oscar for that.

November 2, 2022 at 10:04 am #1205139642Also I noticed that Turning Red showed up on the list of movies you can predict for Original Screenplay.
Kind of doubt it will get in if Soul didn’t either, but I also don’t like Babylon’s trailer, so what the heck, I’m predicting it.
