Are there any TV shows that you think could have or should have had a film release for its final season or even final few episodes?

    Here are my choices:
-Game of Thrones (Likely would have been a Blockbuster smash with the right promotion) Emilia Clarke would have won Best Actress at the Oscars

    -The Americans
(Could have truly been an Awards season contender if done properly)

Emilia Clarke would have won Best Actress at the Oscars

FYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"

Lol if the quality of the last season would be indication of anything the only awards it would be getting is the Razzies.

I will admit that Emilia Clarke gave her best performance during the last season of Game of Thrones, but it was not enough to win an Oscar. Sorry about it

Shows really shouldn’t try doing this. They’re a different art form, and cramming an entire season into two to three hours likely won’t give series the kind of closure that they need.

And a Game of Thrones season 8 movie would’ve made it even worse. The last season already greatly suffered from it being way too rushed, so I can only imagine how rushed a film version would’ve been.

I also think TV shows shouldn’t end as movies. I was already sorely disappointed with Downton Abbey last year that I will not be wishing for that again. Lol.

I just love movies. And awards.
