Two double acting nominees?

I’m starting to think that we may have not one, but two double acting nominees this year; those two being Chadwick Boseman and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Right now, I have Boseman being double nominated but Baron Cohen getting in only for Chicago 7. But I can see him getting nominated for Borat as well, especially if he gets a BAFTA nod tomorrow.

Meanwhile, there has been only one prior occasion where multiple people got multiple acting nominations at the same ceremony. At the 66th Oscars (1993), both Holly Hunter and Emma Thompson were double nominated. Hunter won in Lead while Thompson went home empty-handed.

As much as I enjoy The Firm even today, Hunter’s nomination hasn’t aged well.

lol I was all set to go all actually blanchett and foxx but looked it up and you’re right. No idea why I thought blanchett was double nommed that year.

 

With SBC, there’s no spare slots so that aint happening this year

Right now, I have Ahmed, Boseman, Hopkins, and Oldman as locks, with the fifth slot still up for grabs. The only people I can see taking that slot are Baron Cohen and Yeun.

Right now, I have Yeun ahead of Baron Cohen, but I may revise that prediction if the latter is snubbed at BAFTA and the former is nominated. We’ll all see tomorrow.

He didn’t make the BAFTA longlist, so he can’t be nominated today?
