    Happening
    Petite Maman

I understand A24 prioritizing Macbeth over The Green Knight, but that deserved a later release date and a proper campaign. It could’ve gotten some love below the line.

Most saddened by the omission of Mass and Passing this year. And pretty sure I’m forgetting many, but these few titles come to mind right at this moment:

    The Ice Storm
    I’ve Loved You So Long
Wendy and Lucy (perhaps still wouldn’t fare much better if well pushed, but I really love Williams in it!)

I wouldn’t say I think it would have garnered industry awards attention in the US (mainly because the team behind it are so relatively unknown) but had After Love premiered at Cannes (like I believe it was supposed to before the pandemic arrived) and ended up getting picked up by a distributor like Neon in the US, I could have seen Joanna Scanlan do very well with critics groups.

On the plus side at least she has a BAFTA nomination and might end up winning.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Nine Days. I couldn’t think of a single category where it was eligible and wasn’t at least among the ten best contenders. With an actual campaign and people not tooting into the same three horns the whole year, Picture, Screenplay, Actor, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress and Score would have been locked nominations.

    For Your Consideration:
The Banshees of Inisherin in ALL categories, including:
    - Best Picture
    - Best Director
    - Best Actor (Colin Farrell)
    - Best Supporting Actor (Brendan Gleeson)
    - Best Supporting Actor (Barry Keoghan)
    - Best Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon)
    - Best Supporting Actress (Sheila Flitton)
    - Best Original Screenplay
