Palm Springs is unspecial. It’s not as innovative as Groundhog Day, not as captivating as Edge of Tomorrow and not as fun as Happy Death Day. Directing-wise and in terms of cinematography, it could have been a YouTube video. I really don’t know where all the buzz is coming from.

Da five bloods is a bad movie, horribly written horribly paced and horribly directed. Other than the delroy performance, I cant see why it’s getting any awards buzz (other then cuz its a spike lee joint).

Plus, Holly Hunter should’ve win for Broadcast News instead of Cher that year. Yeah, narrative plays big game in both win. The first one, she’s still nothing. The second one, so many people want to honour Campion, but the most sentimental film was released that year, so they gave it to other nominations that both do not face each other.

I was about to say this. Palm Springs was quite underwhelming to me after all the hype. I also thought Samberg was not especially better than Milioti, so I do feel bad that he got the Globes nom and she didn’t. But he is the bigger name, and the HFPA is as transparent as plastic.

Harlem Nights is a good movie. Funny performances, quotable lines, and writing that really isn’t as clunky as people say. And the costumes are just great.
