David O. Russell is the most overrated director of all time

Amy Adams is bland and most of her performances are forgettable

JLaw’s performance in American Hustle deserved a Razzie nom instead of an Oscar. And the opposite applies for mother!

Kristen Stewart really showed her acting skills in Still Alice and I wish she’d pick up more interesting roles

Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name were the most overrated BP nominees this year. Both movies are good nevertheless

    Spotlight is a boring documentary

    Boyhood is an overlong borefest

I’m don’t really know if you can call Janney overdue for an Oscar. Her film career really hasn’t been that stellar. (even she said she never dreamed of getting an Oscar because film just didn’t seem to offer her the kind of roles TV does.)

Her credits include Oscar winners: American Beauty, The Hours, Juno, and The Help.

But was she really that amazing in any of those movies?

Note to myself: Don’t ever feed the trolls. Don’t get involved in others drama. Don’t let myself be swayed by others predictions, trust my gut more often!

Note to all others: If you don’t happen to like me, ignore me. It is that simple.

The Hours is the only non-role role she has out of the listed four.

I thought American Beauty was okay but I literally don’t remember her doing ANYTHING of relevance or interest in that film.

She had a character and gave a performance.

Allison Janney winning her overdue Oscar was more important than securing Metcalf a win for her one shot deal.

Allison Janney overdue? What a joke. I dare you to tell me three or four performances in her career for which she could or should have won an Oscar.
It does not make sense to say she was overdue

Janney may not have been overdue, but neither was Metcalf. Janney gave the superior performance. I feel confident saying that’s an unpopular opinion seeing how the Gold Derby Awards turned out this year.

The Departed is an utter piece of shit.

True Grit > The Social Network and The King’s Speech

I’ll go further: The Social Network is one of the worst films ever made.

I Tonya did not deserve to be nominated for Best Picture.

Lady Bird is good, but Greta’s script and direction are not as spectacular as everyone says.

Mia Wasikowska is one of the best actresses under 30.

Scarlett Johanson is a very good actress and is better than other actresses more acclaimed than she, like Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley or Rachel McAdams.

Janney did NOTHING in American Beauty, those who argue she gave anything memorable truly need to re-watch the film.

She did not deserve the Oscar because of any BS “overdue” narrative, she earned that Oscar on the quality of her mesmerizing performance alone. That scene in the diner where she loses her shit at Tonya (“I never liked my mother either!”) was an extraordinary portrayal of contempt, bitterness, and finally white-hot rage all flawlessly expressed in just a single scene. Janney was magnificent in I, Tonya and a completely believable Oscar winner as the best of the year.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier deserved Academy Award nominations for Picture, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Film Editing, Sound Mixing, and Sound Editing to go with its Visual Effects nomination. Also, the VFX were nothing spectacular in my opinion and it still baffles me that specific MCU film made the cut with branch voters to receive a nomination in that category while something so much more visually impressive to me like Ant-Man and even the Captain America sequel Civil War could not do the same.

I actually much prefer Janney’s work in American Beauty to I, Tonya.

THE OSCAR 100 (#50-46): Ingrid Bergman, James Coburn, Nick Nolte, Joan Allen and Anthony Hopkins

No one actually believes I, Tonya is her best film work including Allison Janney.

While Allison Janney‘s victory was not surprising and not at all undeserving, given that she had collected almost all the televised awards, I really wanted Laurie Metcalf to pull an upset… Sheldon’s mom/ Aunt Jackie would have been a triple crown winner!!!

… The Oscars have literally offered no shock/surprise in terms of acting winners in the recent years… once an actor/actress gets the precursors, it is always a done deal…
