I wanted to create a topic that gives us freedom to express our opinions in film without arguing with someone. Discussion is great and opposing opinions is fine but this thread is for us to express ourselves. I apologize if there is UP topic created Some of my unpopular opinions are.
-Spectre is better than Skyfall
-Octavia Spencer deserved her Oscar
-Tom Hanks deserved both Oscars and should have won for Castaway
-Alien is better than Aliens
-Halle Berry deserved her Oscar by a mile
-Leo has great makeup artists but his only great performance is Aviator

Well, if those opinions are unpopular, I admit that I agree with over 90% of what you’re saying…..especially the part about Audrey! Say that once too often and you’d find a torch-bearing mob chasing you up the hill to a wind mill.
I detest Gravity.
I will NEVER see The Revenant
I didn’t care for Natalie Portman’s perf in Black Swan
I think Judi Dench is terrific in Chocolat…and I LOVE that film as well. HA!
I think Leo’s most interesting, most fully rendered perf is for Catch Me If You Can.
Emmanuel Lubezki is beginning to bug me…something I NEVER thought I would feel.
I’m a fan of The Triplets of Belleville.
I’m not a fan of the Pirates of The Caribbean films.
I believe Virginia Madsen is “better” than everyone she was nominated with.
I adore Alan Arkin in LMS.
If I hear one more time what a great film The Social Network is, blood will pour out of my ears.
Well I guess I’ll stop there…lots of other “unpopular” opinions I have.
Lol!May 30, 2016 at 8:02 pm #1201842382
Christoph Waltz did not deserve the Oscar for Django. He was by far and away the weakest in his category, and the third best supporting actor in his own film
Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.May 30, 2016 at 8:24 pm #1201842387
2001 A Space Odyssey is about an hour too long.
Barbra Streisand could have been one of the great actresses of her generation but turned down too many quality projects in favor of a larger paycheck.
Few Oscars are given to the best work.
There Will Be Blood is overrated, and that line about milkshakes is ridiculous.
Glenn Close is very good in Albert Nobbs.May 30, 2016 at 9:20 pm #1201842399
Gravity is one of the most overrated movies of all time.

Hank Azaria deserved a Sup. Actor nomination for the second Night at the Museum.
Spider-Man 2 was the best film of 2004.
I don’t like Captain America or The Winter Soldier.
FYC: Ready Player One. Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Visual Effects, Original Score, Production Design, Director and BEST PICTURE (make it happen Oscars!!)May 31, 2016 at 1:26 am #1201842429
Is it really an unpopular opinion that ALIEN is better than ALIENS??? The only thing good (or great) about the 2nd film is Weaver’s character expansion and her performance… otherwise it painfully pales to Ridley Scott’s masterpiece.May 31, 2016 at 1:52 am #1201842433
Jeff Nichols is the most overrated American director of the decade, has yet to make a good film.
Iñarritu is a hack.
Pompeii was one of the best films of 2014.May 31, 2016 at 3:30 am #1201842444

Eddie Redmayne is a terrible actor
Jim Carrey deserved a Best Actor nomination for Liar Liar.
Mark Rylance deserved his Oscar for Bridge of Spies
Quentin Tarantino is hit or miss
Selma is overrated and wasn’t that badly snubbed
Harrison Ford should’ve gotten the Best Supporting Actor nomination for Star Wars over Alec Guinness.May 31, 2016 at 4:57 am #1201842472
Eddie Redmayne deserved his Oscar
Meryl Streep really should’ve won her 3rd Oscar for Julie & Julia, not the Iron Lady
Rocky is one of the most overrated movies
As well, Creed was just alright and no one was snubbed (and Stallone didn’t deserve to win)
Tom Hardy should’ve won BSA out of the nominees this year
The Social Network is good, but didn’t deserve to win Best Picture (and same goes for the King’s Speech)
The Hurt Locker is one of my favourite recent Best Picture winners

– Gravity is super overrated
– European cinema is way superior to American cinema
– The great beauty is a BAD film (said by an italian user, eheh)
– The mirror by Tarkovsky is definitely NOT one of the greatest films of all time (neither is Citizen Kane)May 31, 2016 at 12:30 pm #1201842636
Forest Whitaker kicked ever actor’s ass in the 00s decade with his performance in “The Last king of Scotland.” Although some feel it is a supporting performance, it was miles ahead of the rest of the 00s Best Actor winners.
