Cabaret deserved every Oscar it received and is even more relevant today than when it came out (musical during the height of the civil rights movement and film shortly after still dealing with integration).
It’s still my favorite musical of all time. Pity about the song being not qualified, it would have been one more Oscar.December 5, 2018 at 6:44 pm #1202690379
@seven 1 Million percent agree with your Amy Adams opinion. She is hot and actually seems like a nice person in every interview I have seen her in, but her acting has never lived up to the hype. Glad someone finally had the nerve to say it. I don’t dislike her as an actress, she’s just decent and not amazing in my book.December 5, 2018 at 8:21 pm #1202690431
This thread is called « unpopular opinion » and not « nonsense opinion ». I respect your opinion but this is beyond stupid for an actress underrated as her.
There’s nothing underrated about her. People automatically assume that she is simply because she has many noms already but I personnally find her bland and forgettable and she always gets overshadowed in her movies. I cannot think of a single movie where she’s the standout except maybe Arrival and even then she didn’t deserve the Oscar for this. She seems nice enough but far from the underrated talent some are making her out to be
and I read the title perfectly well but thanks for your participation. Just because you disagree doesn’t mean that me saying Amy Adams doesn’t have an Oscar performance is “nonsense”December 5, 2018 at 8:23 pm #1202690432

Exactly. She’s decent at best and has yet to deliver THAT performanceDecember 9, 2018 at 2:22 pm #1202695691
2014 wasn’t a bad year for actress, it was a bad year for actresses in films The the Academy would like to vote for. If Critics group had rallied behind Davis Johansson, Moss or Mbatha-Raw instead of Moore either of them could’ve gotten in, all of them weren’t leaps and bounds better than the actual nomineees (minus Pike & Witherspoon)
Hell, if the Acadmey cared as much about “popular films” back then as they do then it should’ve been Pike’s to runaway with, heck I could even argue for Shailene WoodleyDecember 9, 2018 at 7:37 pm #1202696017

Roma is a Alfonso Cuaron vanity project that has zero business being mentioned as a Best Picture candidate; that’s what the foreign language movie category is for.December 9, 2018 at 11:31 pm #1202696124
There is nothing about Green Book that is even close to being oscar worthy.December 11, 2018 at 7:06 am #1202697652

As long as it acknowledges the fact that Courtney Love probably killed him, whether by accident or on purpose, I’m cool. Conspiracy theory mode Oliver Stone would kick ass with this movie, plus he already directed the Jim Morrison biopic The Doors about his band of the same name.
