I’m not sure where to put this revelation I had but I’m going to put it here.
Last night I watched Ocean’s 8 and it was bothering me literally the entire movie who Sandra Bullock was reminding me of. I couldn’t get it out of my head that there was some other actress who acts just like her. I knew it was someone I had just seen, and then after the movie, I continued my binge of Smash, and realized that it was Debra Messing.
I’m not familiar with a lot of either actresses’ work but from what I gather from these two projects (Ocean’s 8 and Smash), Sandra Bullock and Debra Messing have very similar voices, inflection, and mannerisms. The way they carry themselves and speak, to me, is incredibly similar.
Please let me know if anyone else has noticed this, or if is just their characters from these two projects that is making me think this lolJune 26, 2019 at 1:19 pm #1202952758
As a fun fact for others on GoldDerby who might not know, Tyler was really, really angry about the fact that The Lion King was being remade. You may have seen the movie forums thread on it where he wrote a big manifesto shitting his pants over it, and in it he included a hashtag, #BoycottTheLionKing. I wasn’t particularly passionate about the project, but was curious about whether or not this was a trending thing, or if he just made it up. At the time (before the trailer dropped), nobody wanted to boycott it except for him, so snaps to Tyler for being ahead of the curve on that one. But in short, it meant that he was the only person on Twitter talking about it. So FYI, finding these receipts was not in any way doxxing (there’s zero personal information in here anyway), it was 100% publicly available knowledge and shit-spewing, not hidden or private, posted recently. and inb4 someone says I’m obsessed, because this took max 15 minutes to gather (you sure post a lot about The Gays), so less time than I research making sure a Tinder date isn’t going to slice my face off. I find it really funny you just throw shit and run away as soon as possible. Like for this post, you say you’re done talking about it. But curiously, on your Twitter, you run to a CinemaSins ripoff, who parrots alt-right bullet points and supports “straight pride parades” (lol), and you turn into a little pick me bitch and try to not-so-subtly coax him into an exposé/brigade of the site, and all the extremely attractive users who did little more than call you out on your inflammatory opinion. On your account you have some choice, fundie thoughts about gay people. I guess it’s because you come off as a bit of a fundie. But honestly, some self-awareness would go a long way, gay people don’t exist for your approval. In fact, you really seem to think LGBT people live these charmed lives and that it must be your duty to martyr yourself in criticizing them. As an FYI, it’s not tolerant to think that being gay is a choice, like vaping. And you seem well aware of the “consequences” of your opinions yet you come on here playing the victim like you couldn’t possibly see how this happened. How come, Chief Willoughby? And you were really upset about that rat dude from Arthur being gay, enough to make you pro-censorship. What always bothered me was your opinions on CMBYN being a pedophile’s amuse-bouche. There has been enough good dismantling of that harmful opinion. But my goodness, would it kill you to just be a little consistent? Because you sure have a fixation on your waifus being high school girls. And inb4 “but they’re animated, so it’s fine because it’s not real!” Well, Elio isn’t real either, but regardless, that argument is like every lolicon addict’s first line of defense so I hope you don’t whip it out in response to this. “But Auntie Bitchy,” y’all might tell me, “that might not mean anything! He could be their age, everyone has crushes, we all got thorsty over Danny Phantom when we were 12.” Except, Tyler is 24/25 right now, so maybe you should cut back on implying Oliver is some child molester when you’re the same age. tl;dr, you seem like you really love the Bible. Ironically, I do too, and there’s a passage I really love, John 8:7. Maybe you should read up on it and think about it a little before you go try to shit all over people on this site for calling you out on your terrible opinions.
Darling, whew. My classy English Prime Minister’s wig flew to Mars.
As Prime Minister, I must say the following:
Not-my-darling Tyler, you’re CANCELLED.

So I watched Booksmart today, and I liked it but I don’t get all the hype for it. It wasn’t that good, it’s definitely not as good as Lady Bird.
I agree 100%. I thought Lady Bird was an absolute masterpiece and possibly the greatest portrayal of teenage female life. Booksmart was awful and was a cheap imitation of Lady Bird, Eighth Grade, and Superbad. The writing was bad, the performances were bad, and the direction was bad. I can’t understand why people love it so much.June 26, 2019 at 3:40 pm #1202952908

I know that this is your personal opinion but…

Regina King didn’t deserve an Oscar for Beale Street.

I rewatched “Her” and I find it flat and boring. I don’t know why, maybe because of the score or the dead air between scenes. However, on the positive note, Phoenix’s performance is very natural and Johansson’s OS voice is terrific. I also love the flashback scenes where they project over dialogues.

SAG and BAFTA agrees with you.
Kathy Bates for Best Supporting Actress (Richard Jewell)June 27, 2019 at 5:32 am #1202953550
All of Nicole Kidman’s nominations are for the wrong movies. Should’ve been for To Die For, The Others, Dogville (win), The Paperboy (if she has to have a supporting nod)
The Academy prefers beige Kidman. All PG-13 releases.

I don’t see the appeal with Zendaya. The girl is absolutely nothing special…June 27, 2019 at 7:22 am #1202953681
Revelation should’ve gotten a nom (and should’ve won) for Best Original Song. Shallow is overrated.
