Timothée Chalamet didn’t gave the best male lead performance this decade. This must be one of the most embarrassing and craziest things I’ve ever read in my life. Don’t get me wrong i think he was really good in CMBYN and i absolutely love him and the movie. But saying things like that is insane and an insult to other astonishing male performances we had this decade. Just this 5 guys completely out acted Chalamet.

    Daniel Day-Lewis – Lincoln

    Joaquin Phoenix – The Master

    Michael Fassbender – Shame

Casey Affleck – Manchester By the Sea

    Michael Keaton – Birdman

And this are just 5. I could name another 5 male performances that i preferred this decade over Chalamet.

Jennifer Lawrence’s best performances are Winter’s Bone and Mother! American Hustle is fun though.

    Aubrey Plaza is incredibly underrated

Michael Keaton in Birdman? Really? This must be one of the most embarrasing and crazy things I’ve read in my life.

Honey he was REALLY good in it. And way more deserving than Redmayne. DEAL WITH IT.

I mean…Redmayne got the oscar so I can definitely deal with it.Can you?

I can. I just disagree with the winner. Keaton and Gyllenhaal (who was criminally snubbed) were much better than Redmayne. Redmayne deserved to win for The Danish Girl. I really loved him in it. The only thing deserving of a win for The Theory of Everything was that sublime score.

I rewatched Birdman just the other day and found out that the film actually deserved its Best Picture win. Michael Keaton was a “little” bit better than Eddie Redmayne in TTOE. Yeah, a little bit, but he’s still better.

    9. White people getting all offended about racism towards minorities is fucking annoying.
    10. White privilege is a myopic, idiotic concept.

Can you elaborate on this? I may be reading this incorrectly, but are you trying to suggest that white people cannot be frustrated with the oppression that minorities face? Or that the notion of white privilege being prevalent and problematic is not correct?

Again, I could completely be misinterpreting your statements, but your language confused me and I wanted to clarify before I weighed in on the matter.

Timothée Chalamet is easily better than all of those except (maybe) Pheonix. Keaton was terrible in Birdman, Day-Lewis was good but not anything out of this world, and the others shouldn’t even had been mentioned.

Another opinion: I hate Birdman. It’s honestly one of the worst big Oscar contenders this decade.

Michael Keaton outacted Eddie Redmayne by miles. So did Jake Gyllenhaal, who was criminally snubbed.

    Oh yeah.

Omg noooo. Redmayne is awful in The Danish Girl, but that’s mostly because the writing is horrendous.

No, of course white people can be outraged over racism but I have met white people who are prone to attacking you for anything that can be misconstrued as racism. For example, I was explaining that blacks have a different way of singing than white people and other races do with them being able to do a lot of things vocally that white people really can’t do in the same way. That got shut down as racist and part of trying to prove that blacks are inferior to whites based on genetic makeup. I tell my black roommates about it who aren’t the least bit offended partly because they are also performers and know what I’m talking about. I’ve also witnessed this same person correct another person, stating that the term African American is the right term over black. Then later on I hear a black person criticize that term and all of the black people I know don’t care about the term black. It’s this insistence on everything being what a white person thinks is politically correct while abandoning logical thinking and attacking others who aren’t as “woke” as they are as racist that is irritating to me.

As for white privilege, I think there are a lot of factors that people are oppressed by.This notion that white people are always automatically at an advantage over minorities tends to be used to ignore a lot of things such as biases over weight, disability, general appearance, economic status, sexual orientation, etc that affect people of all races. I’m not saying that racism against minorities in situations that wouldn’t affect a white person isn’t a real thing but it’s insulting to be told that you automatically have a substantial advantage over minorities in everything when really that isn’t the case.
