Trevante Rhodes, Ashton Sanders, and Alex Hibbert all would have been more worthy nominees/winners than Mahershala Ali for Moonlight

    Darling, that’s a fact.

I agree that Harry Potter deserved way more. A lot of iconic films were BP nominees at least and HP should’ve been one of them.

However what i wanna say this time is that…

If there’s any justice in this world, Chris Evans and RDJ would both be nominated for Endgame. Avengers for picture. I’m still holding on to that possibility.

I just love movies. And awards.

I don’t know if any of the films deserved BP noms (*maybe* for Deathly Hallows Part 2 to commemorate the series, at most), but I really wish the series had won something. Namely Production Design or Visual Effects. And it’s unfortunate that John Williams never won for such an iconic score (though he of course has other wins).

I’ve just re-watched Green Book. Is it unpopular to say Viggo outacted Mahershala in practically every scene? It shouldn’t be.

Yes, it is somewhat unpopular. Green Book is a poorly acted movie with both leads (Mahershala is co-lead!) looked forced and unnatural. But if someone has to prevail, I guess it’s Mahershala.

Darlings, Green Bore was so average and boring but a ore amusing winner than Roma. That was the definition of pretentious, self-indulgent and incredibly dull. Aparicia was okay and Tavira was fine.

Viggo and Mahershala are the reason why that movie works. They’re both fantastic individually, but their chemistry is the film’s main attraction. Say what you will about Green Book’s writing, or direction, or behind the scenes drama, but leave Mortensen and Ali out of it.

Finally an unpopular opinion lol. I wanted to like it but there were just so many things I hated about it: Dafoe’s narration, that random NY accent, and the ending to name a few. It probably would’ve been better if after the church scene, they delved deeper into her own emotions regarding the massacre and how it affected her rather than just skip to her being a pop diva. The ending also made the film feel pointless.

Also got banned because...reasons? So, I guess ciao.

I don’t deny it was a mess and a lot of things didn’t work, but it was still more interesting and thought provoking than most of the movies that were nominated this year. It missed in a lot of regards but I love it because it was bold and I still find myself thinking about it from time to time.

Not going to lie, this is so true. It’s honestly better than 99% of the movies I’ve seen this year and it looks like it could’ve actually made my personal lineup. Can we just skip to next year please lol?
