I’ll be honest, i don’t even think it’s an unpopular take.
Aside from the SJW Twitter bubble, she is widely beloved in the real world, of course especially by the male audience.January 5, 2021 at 12:02 pm #1203964263
Yeah, vocal Asian-Americans don’t matter. They’ll just watch a basic MCU movie anyway.January 5, 2021 at 12:24 pm #1203964362
I don’t get the hype for Viola in Ma Rainey and it’s not even about the amount of screentime she has. Like she did the best with what she was given but I don’t really get a range of emotions or a particular standout scene from it that makes me go: oh wow I really felt that or something like that.
Aside I just thought not much happened in the movie in general. Like the whole movie was recording some songs and it was over. Like yes we got the emotional outpour and hopes and dreams from Chadwick’s character and there are obvious themes in it but in terms of plot… not much happens. I get it’s based on a play but I was kinda always waiting for something more to happen or for them to move to another location. There was too much rehearsal room banter.January 5, 2021 at 8:47 pm #1203965235
Scorsese is very bad directing Huge Budgets. Scorsese is at his finest with small budgets and he isn’t Ridley Scott, Spielberg or CameronJanuary 5, 2021 at 9:45 pm #1203965268

Both Nanny McPhee films are family film masterpieces and Emma Thompson should have been nominated for comedy globes for both of them and Maggie Gyllenhaal should have been nominated at the globes for the second film.

The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, Hugo, The Wolf of Wall Street and The Irishman, all terrific 100 Million films.
(even Gangs of New York, which is only really good by Scorsese’s standards).January 6, 2021 at 6:55 am #1203965627

I hate how #oscarssowhite focuses on the acting category. What about the other categories?
We as people of color have more talents than acting. I think the obsession with fame makes people go so hard for the acting.
Hopefully, this year, we see progression.January 9, 2021 at 7:34 am #1203971758
