The 1994 adaptation of Little Women was better than the 2019 Gerwig adaptation.

FYC: Better Call Saul and The Good Fight in all categories including Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Darling, Field’s second for Oscar bait Places in The Heart, is a pretty underwhelming performance that won and it makes a perfect sense. The lineup was painfully weak. Had Lange competing for Frances that year, she would’ve easily won and deservedly so.

They could’ve given Lange (for Country) or Vanessa Redgrave (for The Bostonians) their second win instead of Field and in my opinion both would’ve been more deserving, Redgrave would’ve been my personal choice.

Love both versions but I agree. The 1933 version with Katharine Hepburn is also great, not as good as either ‘94 or ‘19 but still great.

Honestly, their nominees are so boring that year. I would make my one and only adjustment in the annals of Oscar history here if I could, and went for something oddball.

Debra Winger is an all-timer in Mike’s Murder, a film that was painfully underseen and a bit too bleak for them that year.

I love Redgrave, Lange, and Judy Davis in A Passage to India from the lineup, but Field and Sissy Spacek in The River give pretty one dimensional performances in bland films. My “oddball” pick from that year would’ve been the perpetually underrated Kathleen Turner in Romancing the Stone, I wouldn’t have given her the win but it’s an excellent and more complex performance than she gets credit for.

Elvis is Baz Luhrmann’s worst movie.

Art Carney deserved his oscar and most people that complain about him beating Jack, Al and Dustin never saw “Harry and Tonto”.
It is one of the most inspired choices made by the Academy in the Best Actor category.

An un-nominated Kathleen Turner should have won Best Actress for Serial Mom over Jessica Lange in 94.

Darling, Williams’ wig in The Fabelmans is goofy and distracting.

I don’t sure if this Unpopular because a lot of younger people hate Spielberg’s latest movies: I rewatched Munich and is One of The Greatest Movies Of All Time and His Last True Masterpiece. After Munich, his movies are TOO Mediocre/Boring
