Judy Parfitt in Dolores Claiborne >>>>>>>>>> 90s best supporting actress nominees and winners.

And Kathy Bates was robbed of a nomination and a win for Dolores.

Eddie Redmayne was really good in The Good Nurse, that scream many people are criticizing on Film Twitter fits perfectly with the psychology of his character and was one of the reasons I wanted to see the movie.

Tár should have been a 10 minute short film or a video art installation at a local gallery, played on loop.

Jacob Tremblay acted circles around Brie Larson in Room.

I’m all for genderless acting categories, and also multiple awards being handed for a category not just for ties.

Tessa Thompson should have been nominated, and was better than the entire lineup that year. Ruth Negga should have been nominated as well for Passing obviously.

Am I the only one who didn’t understand Aftersun until I wikipedia’d it? I thought maybe he has a terminal disease or the kid is dying and he wants to make her last days happy. I sat there all the way to the end lost as hell. And she said she hasnt seen the dad since that vacation so I thought for sure he died. Lol. Only when I Wikipedia’d it did everything make sense.

It’s hinted that the dad probably has depression and is very unsatisfied with how his life turned out to be. He had a child at 19, his baby mama left him with and took custody of his daughter, and he has dead end jobs that go no where. He tried to do tai chi to help with his depression. Also his broken arm is hinted that it may have been from a suicide attempt. That why he said himself he surprised he made it to 30 because he thought he would’ve died. He also buys that rug despite it being too expensive as one last thing to enjoy in his life before attempt to commit suicide again. He also tried to do it again by trying to drown himself in the ocean. He is very distant from his daughter the entire trip. The daughter knows that there something wrong with her dad as kid  but doesn’t realize why  until as an adult when she has a child herself. I think the dad does actually finally kill himself finally

Speaking of that movie, I love it so much. It’s campy space opera, makes me howl laugh, and it’s hard to not be entertained by it. Also love its subtext about gender.

That performance gives me such weird vibes. It’s so confusing, and hard to look away from. Crazy decisions from everybody involved.

I also just find Kunis’ deliveries equally ridiculous.

Michelle Williams was ok in The Fabelmans.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

I think some of the criticism she’s received for her performance reflects viewers’ opinions on the character she is playing. Supposedly, a lot of people who actually knew Spielberg’s mother thought that Williams did a great job.

Film criticism has become so political. The critics have their own agenda, they decide which actor/actress and movie to push in the awards race whether they deserve it or not.
