If Black Panther had been nominated for Best Makeup, it would’ve won.

Leonardo DiCaprio is yet to achieve his 100 percent potential as an Actor.

Once he is done with $80-$140 million Big Budget Films,we will see different DiCaprio.

ArtHouse DiCaprio doing low budget films will be peak DiCaprio as an Actor.

I hope he starts doing them in his 50s.

Fassbender is overrated beyond any reason, his nominations were completely undeserved and all his hype evaporated once he started to keep his pants on.

It should be harder for people to win multiple Oscars. With that in mind though, I think Birdman thoroughly deserved all three of Picture, Director and Original Screenplay.

If his hype disappeared when he put his pants on then how did he get those nominations for roles where he was never nude?

On the topic of Fassbender, he should’ve won for 12 Years a Slave. Same goes for Chiwetel.

Are you referring to McConaughey or Leto?

Both wins are interesting since both of these actors went on to panned projects not too long after receiving their Oscars.

At the SAG Awards, films with relatively small contending casts (4 to 6 range, if you catch my drift) should not be nominated for SAG ensemble.

His overacting in 12YS was embarrassing and Chiwetel was just sleepwalking. neither should have been nominated. if ridiculous Maconaissance narrative didn’t overtake the awards that year, Leo would have rightfully won for WOWS. What a legend.

if Chiwetel was as good as made out to be in 12YS than why didn’t his career take off post-12YS? all he does is Disney and he does it badly. His voice work in Lion King was razzie material and yes, there are critical receipts for that. he was panned together with Beyonce and that Childish personality.

First off, I don’t see how you can relegate Chiwetel’s immense pain and anguish to sleepwalking through that movie. And if he wasn’t as good as he was made out to be, the film wouldn’t have won. Also, you do realize that it’s difficult for a black man to make it in Hollywood, right? Even then, outside of Lion King, he’s done fairly well.

I thought he was one note and he didn’t lose even a bit of weight which he should have due to his character’s hardship. So no, I’m not impressed but he was still better than overactor Fassbender who went full B movie ham.

Actors shouldn’t be required to lose weight for any role. Just because Christian Bale tortures his body for his performances doesn’t mean that other people should too. Judging Ejiofor’s performance because he didn’t lose weight is ridiculous. Also, you do realize that it makes sense for him to be around the same weight throughout the film, right? The work that slaves were put through was extremely physical, and his owners would clearly try to keep him well fed in order to make sure he could do his duties.

Also, Fassebnder’s acting was completely appropriate. He was playing an inhumane monster and acted like one.

Anyway, back to the original point, you saying that Fassbender’s hype has evaporated isn’t a matter of opinion, it’s factually incorrect. He’s still very well rehearsed, and your claim that nobody cared about him once he put his pants back on doesn’t make sense since he’s gotten two Oscar nominations since then.
