I didn’t think any female director should have been nominated this year.

Greta Gerwig should have been nominated for Best Director this year for her far superior Little Women than her disappointing Lady Bird.

Viola Davis rightfully so lost the Oscar in 2012.

Darling, of course. Meryl did a fantastic, classy job portraying me. I thought it was a mirror. Amazing.

Antonio Banderas was just okay in Pain and Glory. It was a nice, solid, endearing performance but it’s way overhyped.

Parasite does not deserve to win best picture. It’s a good movie deserving of a nomination for best picture, but the tone is uneven and the ending is messy.

The 4 frontrunners actually deserve Oscars for their roles. Phoenix, Zellweger, Pitt and Dern give their career-best performances. Illiterates will say otherwise. EAT IT.

I love being a literate person.

The Farewell is not good nor bad. It’s just average, didn’t deserve any nominations especially not for directing.

10-15 years from now The Irishman will be most lauded,re accessed and memorable Hollywood film of year 2019.

The way Marty deals with life, death, decay, power, loyalty, bonds and spirituality in this film is unparallel.

Marty addresses his 2 most used and focused topics in shape of Gangster Life and Spirituality and he executes them perfectly.

It might not win all the awards this year for various reasons majorly because this is a cold, depressing and for some people a boring film.

Perhaps people were expecting another Goodfellas,Casino,Departed but it isn’t that.
It’s different than any previous Gangster film Marty ever did.

This will age like the finest wine and with passage of time,it’s value will only increase in history books of Cinema.

ScarJo has never been a good actor. Saoirse deserves to win for Little Women.

    Unpopular opinions for this year

    1. Two Popes was boring. I’m happy for Pryce but man, what a boring movie.
    2. Knives Out deserves more than it’s one nomination.
    3. Actually, there should be more movies with one nomination if we remove these random noms from BP contenders. (I DON’T think thats an unpopular opinion but dang it)

I just love movies. And awards.

Neither of these should be unpopular. Two Popes was boring and baity and I think the latter quality is the only reason Netflix pushed it over Dolemite Is My Name.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Tarantino’s best film.

It is a culmination of his previous works and firmly demonstrates his mastery as a writer/director. It also has the most heart of his whole body of work.

A rewatch improved the film signfincantly for me and I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t seen it again to give it another go. As a confession, I’ve never been the biggest Tarantino fan, but I finally understand what he’s been trying to do as a filmmaker after seeing this masterwork.

If Parasite doesn’t win, I hope this does.
