Pride (2014) was better than half the best picture nominees at the 2015 Oscars, and deserved at least Screenplay, Actor (Ben Schnetzer), and Supporting Actor (Bill Nighy) nominations.

I’m still surprised Pride flew under the radar. Schnetzer and Nighy were great, so were George MacKay and Andrew Scott. Seems like exactly the type of that should have captured Hollywood’s attention but maybe it was too niche.

The best supporting actress nominees and winners of the 2010s were ALL horrible.

Margot Robbie should have two Oscars already. One for Bombshell over Laura and the other for I, Tonya over Frances.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

I’m sorry, but Margot nagging Leo isn’t anywhere close to Lupita’s heartrending work.

Yikes! I got carried away and wrote the wrong film! I meant for Bombshell (where I thought she was superior to Dern).

Florence Pugh in Little Women outranked everybody last season and that’s on that.

Also last season’s supporting actress lineup (sans Dern) was one of the strongest we’ve ever had. There it is that’s my ultimate unpopular opinion.

Andrew Garfield is a way better actor than Robert Pattinson or Timothee Chalamet, and yet he’s not getting his due, thus the same opportunities they are getting.

He has a Tony and a Bafta. Has an Oscar nod. How is he not getting his due?

Eddie Redmayne deserved his win over Michael Keaton

Yes. Keaton’s performance was cooler than Redmayne’s but Redmayne was clearly better

Dern won for a nothing performance, and should have been given an achievement award if they wanted to recognize her career, because she did absolutely nothing a high school debate student couldn’t do in Marriage Story. Pitt was an even more underwhelming win.

    rubbish

Pitt was also a thoroughly underwhelming, even less if that’s possible.

Pacino or Pesci should have won last year.

Isabelle Huppert should have won in 2017 instead of Emma Stone
