Just rewatched Elle and it’s actually a masterpiece. Isabelle, obviously, deserved to win best actress.

Uma Thurman deserved a nomination for Nymphomaniac
Vicky Krieps deserved a nomination and A WIN for Phantom Thread. Disgusting snubSeptember 29, 2020 at 9:37 am #1203741582
There’s so much talk about Americans doing unconvincing British accents (and really only doing one sort of accent when there are dozens if not hundreds of regional variations), but I also think the vast majority of British actors do overly affected American accents and often fail to carry themselves in a way most Americans do. Still a bit too much posturing.September 29, 2020 at 9:46 am #1203741628
This is less of a unpopular opinion, and more of a fact, but other than Parasite, I don’t even remember what films were nominated for what category and who won Oscars this past February.September 29, 2020 at 10:57 am #1203741943

I genuinely feel like the only films from last year people are still talking about are Parasite and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, (maybe also The Irishman, but that’s more on Film Twitter).
The rest is fading.September 29, 2020 at 1:05 pm #1203742574
Bradley Cooper is having now the career that Jake Gyllenhaal should have had.September 29, 2020 at 1:27 pm #1203742677
Going further with my unpopular opinion that Robbie should have won Best Actress in 2018 for I, Tonya I’d also argue that I, Tonya should have won Best Picture, Editing and Original Screenplay. I’d also have nominated Sebastian Stan in Supporting Actor.
However I’d still give Guillermo his directing Oscar but I’d give Supporting Actor to Harrelson and Supporting Actress to Metcalf.
FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).September 29, 2020 at 9:14 pm #1203743764
Milla Jovovich deserved an Oscar nomination for Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Kaluuya should’ve gotten in for ‘Widows’ over Rockwell for ‘Vice’ in 2019. I’m taking Kaluuya and Chalamet that year over Driver and Rockwell. Yeun was another snub who should’ve gotten a supp actor nom that yearSeptember 29, 2020 at 11:56 pm #1203743946
Isabelle Huppert should have won in 2017 instead of Emma Stone
Actually Amy Adams should have won in 2017 over Emma Stone.
The actual unpopular opinion (here) would be that Emma deserved that win, which I agree with (obviously).
