Soggy Bottom may be released directly, bypassing festivals, and it’ll be on prime video as well ..

Nightmare Alley isn’t ready for the festivals yet, and like Soggy Bottom, I think it’s going to open directly to the theaters.

    * Licorice Pizza - Paul Thomas Anderson

    * Nightmare Alley – Guillermo Del Toro

    * The Power of the Dog – Jane Campion

Honestly, no clue. Was Black Swan in competition entries?? i have the same question as you since they could’ve push either McKenzie or Taylor Joy for Volpi (Long shot) or the movie for Golden Lion. Soho will in competition for TIFF anyway and they eyeing for People’s choice awards apparently

Black Swan was in competition, Mila Kunis actually won an award for best emerging actor/actress.

Thanks for info. I’m not really sure what to think right now regarding Soho’s awards prospects.

Are actors only from films competing in competition eligible for the Volpi Cup? For example, since Kirsten Dunst and Oscar Isaac are in The Power of the Dog and The Card Counter respectively (both films that are premiering in competition), they are eligible for the Best Actress and Best Actor Volpi Cup. Meanwhile, since movies like The Last Duel are out of competition, would Jodie Comer for example be ineligible? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Macbeth supposedly not being good with all the people involved is a big surprise… I guess we’ll see if that is only a rumor or surprisingly true

Jeff Wells first, then a guy who works programming for Cannes and Venice confirmed it and spilled about Blonde as well.

There isn’t any mention about the film’s quality here. I don’t know about others.

This is really weird because the Cannes director said Blonde was great and he wanted Blonde to screen at Cannes.

I can’t find it on the Hollywood Elsewhere homepage, do you know where he posted it?

I do believe he loved it but that doesn’t mean it’s gonna be the majority response
