Which I believe is fully possible.

Of course and I hope it does. It’s nice to see big Hollywood tentpoles with representation for Asian actors on screen.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

I´m surprised  Jolie did not get top billing in the first poster. I guess her role is more a supporting one.

Eternals looks great but without the cultural impact of Black Panther, I don’t it’s going to have above the line noms.

I think it’s going to have to pull a WandaVision in zeitgeisty presence for it to actually be a contender imo

    It needs more than that

Kevin Feige said in a recent interview that Gemma Chan’s character is the main character of the film.

Not related to the upcoming season, but Timothee Chalamet will play Willy Wonka for Warner Bros: https://deadline.com/2021/05/timothee-chalamet-willy-wonka-warner-bros-1234762658/

Chalamet will also sing and dance in the film, which will feature musical numbers. My first thought on the news was meh. I don’t know why they’re bothering with an origin story.

They incessantly keep shoving this kid down our throats as if he were the next Day-Lewis or something.
I’m sure there won’t be any blowback to this approach at all.

Those Malick-type shots in the Eternals trailer… nice.

The silver lining on this project is that it’s being helmed by Paul King, he of the Paddington movies. That at least is promising.

Guess I’m not seeing it with The Eternals. The “haha don’t worry it’s still a Marvel movie” joke at the end was cringe.

Yeah Chalamet has about 1% of the charisma required to play Wonka.

I´m surprised Jolie did not get top billing in the first poster. I guess her role is more a supporting one.

She is the third most important character after Chan and Madden.  I guess that poster billing isn’t always the refelection of the size or importance of one’s role.

    It needs more than that

We’ll see what happens. Right now, off terrible ratings, it seems that AMPAS could be interested in blockbusterizing the Picture line-up reagrdless of zeitgeist (strong reviews and boxoffice being enough). But then, Oscars 2021 were expected to be under heavy BLM influence and that absolutely didn’t happen.

Those Malick-type shots in the Eternals trailer… nice.

They said that about Man of Steel teaser. Those Malick style shots. 🙂

As I said previously, Eternals is only getting Marvel’s usual vfx nomination.
