People said similar things about Gaga before ASIB and look how that turned out for her, it’s too early to call the critical reception he might bring imo. It’s looking more likely to me that Canterbury Glass is going to be pushed until next year unless new information about the film is released very soon. Pushing it another year could help it avoid more criticism and the discourse surrounding DOR given the chatter may die down by that point.

Why do you think Canterbury Glass will be pushed to next year?

It’s very possible that both are big contenders THE LAST DUEL and HOUSE OF GUCCI. In the past, I thought only 1 of them but they are so different in style that both THE LAST DUEL and HOUSE OF GUCCI could get Best Picture Oscar noms

    Black Panther – January 2018…

Black Panther made an enormous cultural and social impact and over a billion dollars of box office. Similar release dates don’t make things directly comparable.

That would cement Ridley Scott as the frontrunner for Best Director.

I wonder if we’ll get first look photos from magazines like Vanity Fair or EW for their annual fall movie previews. HoG already did that with the Gaga and Driver photo.

Chastain looks like the typical performance from an ok or above ok movie that sweeps the season

Chastain is Searchlight’s first push, in my opinion, even more than McDormand. She’s not just coming, she’s marching!
