Why are people so hyped for Mass? Was it the best film in Sundance?

It wasn’t my favorite, but the performances were out of this world phenomenal. Ann Dowd should be running away with that Supporting Actress Oscar

So is Dowd the consensus standout or is someone like Plimpton more likely to rack up some critics’ awards?

I think Dowd, Plimpton, and Jason Isaacs are all amazing, but Dowd will probably have the bigger push. I think the other two are likely to get nominations, maybe a win here or there, but Dowd will be the bigger push overall

Since I’ve been lurking around I’ve seen a lot of people call Willem Dafoe, I think because people really want him to happen. I desperately want to see him get a win, too. He is absurdly overdue. But I don’t think it’s this year, sadly. His role in NA is said to be small, and I can’t imagine it’s smaller than his role in Card Counter. He shows up briefly in two scenes if I recall correctly. And even if it were larger, I don’t think it’s the kind of role people will be anxious to award.

Everyone is absolutely sleeping on Isaac, though.
