He will win this year and Film Twitter will finally leave my girl Hildur alone.

They can stay pressed, Hildur deserved and both of her 2019 scores are iconic.

Emmys FYC | Alan Tudyk in “Resident Alien” | Billie Piper in “I Hate Suzie” | Ego Nwodim in “Saturday Night Live” | Kaley Cuoco in “Harley Quinn” | “Dickinson” | “P-Valley” | “Pose” | “Superstore”

Apparently limited release is Nov 26 which is better, but it’ll be going up against House of Gucci.

House of Gucci at least already has so much buzz going for it into its release.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

Can Smith break through for Downton Abbey this time? It’s got more friendly Christmas release but that could just be a more commercially viable option.

If Focus were smart they’d take a move out of the On Fonda Ponda playbook and convince everyone this will be their last chance to reward her before she dies.

I love Dame Maggie and she’s phenomenal in Downton and should have won her third Oscar for The Lady in the Van.

But this won’t happen. This won’t be her last chance before she dies. She’s got A German Life coming up and a new film with Laura Linney too. And a “last chance to reward her” narrative isn’t going to be very helpful for her when Diana Rigg might be in this race if her role in Last Night in Soho is big enough (and this is literally her last chance) and Glenda Jackson might be in this race for Mothering Sunday.

Downton’s release date is entirely based around giving people a festive activity to do. Maggie Smith is not going to be this year’s late breaker.

So now instead of cosying up together on the campaign trail Gaga and Bradley Cooper are in competing movies opening the same day? Lols.

Will Mavity on Twitter is 99% certain that Newman scoring The Northman is not true.

I didn’t think a second movie would happen so quickly. Btw, I sent you a message about Annette.

Could be. But it’s too soon to rule something out with two high profile Academy faves.

The Academy has been shying away more and more from genre bias and more towards these weirder more arthouse films so if either of AnnetteLast Night in Soho or Don’t Worry Darling miss, I doubt it would be because of their genre.

I’m not ruling it out. How could I rule out anything this early in the race lol? It’s just a feeling.

I’ve heard it’s not true that Thomas Newman will score The Northman.
