Consider Kate Winslet in Wonder Wheel. She is a jewel.

The Post is finally going to be released here this weekend, but Phantom Thread won’t be shown here until the following weekend. So I didn’t cast any votes for either of those two films. Perhaps after I see them if there is still time I might change my votes…

I wound up not putting Gary Oldman in my top 3 for Best Actor and I realized my lack of enthusiasm is because while it is a very technically proficient performance it isn’t a moving performance for me. I am on Team Chalamet all the way.

FYC: Sean Baker for his superb direction of The Florida Project. He made a film about marginalized people and made them fully human, warts and all, elicited amazing performances and created a world unlike any other in a wonderful movie.

Send a message to Daniel Montgomery and hopefully he’ll add it. Not sure if he’ll add everything that’s requested but he added some things that I asked him to.

Since DM hasn’t answered my question I’m going to ask it here. Are Okja and Faces Places eligible in the Foreign Film field?

Idk about faces places but Okja is an American production and in English so idk why it would be up for foreign film.

I’m very happy to catch a film festival with The Post, Tonya and Shape of Water on the 28th, meaning I can vote this year with some last minute votes if I like them.

    FYC:

    – Dustin Hoffman for Supp. Actor (Meyerowitz Stories)
    – Daniel Kaluuya for Best Actor
    – Catherine Keener and Allison Williams for Supp. Actress
    – Jordan Peele for Director and Screenplay
    – Get out for Movie

Just to save people doubling efforts, I have requested the following additions:

God’s Own Country – Best Picture
    BPM – Best Picture
Josh O’Connor, God’s Own Country – Best Actor
Arnaud Valois, BPM – Best Supporting Actor
    BPM – Best Ensemble

I wouldn’t normally ask about OKja but certain critics groups have classified it as a Foreign Film.
