    I didn’t notice Affleck isn’t in Top 3, now that’s embarassing.

Yea I’m perfectly fine with Parasite winning (wasn’t my choice but I think I had it second or third) but I think the sweep was a little aggressive. There are other movies that could’ve won something!

Right, now that’ I’ve had the chance to sleep it over… this is still awful. The only thing worse than the nominations was the wins.

I mean really. I’m not one to complain too much. I disagree with say, The Social Network‘s win for Adapted Screenplay, but I accept it.

But Parasite? Not only winning BP but taking home 6 awards to everyone else’s 1 or 0? That’s just plain not right. If that’s not recency bias, I don’t know what is (actually, I do. See the next paragraph). It didn’t even deserve International Picture. Roma and Pain and Glory were both much better.

Frankly even worse than that is Phoenix’s win for Joker. Clearly the product of unadulterated recency bias or blind stanning. I could’ve understood if it was for The Master, but his Joker performance was – well – a joke. Salt in the wound was that Timotheé Chalamet would’ve won if Phoenix hadn’t, which is also quite laughable in my opinion. I can stomach DiCaprio’s third place.

Happy with 1917 in cinematography, Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse in Animated Picture, Won’t You Be My Neighbor in Documentary, and Adams with Performer of the Decade.

Just saw the Parasite Awards GD Awards winners now and I only have two words:

    RECENCY BIAS.

Parasite sweep? Come on. We’re taking about the best films in the last decade, and the love should be spread. Well, I guess I should have known this would happen by the nominations….

Emily Jean Stone should’ve placed at least in Top 3 for Best Actress and Top 5 in Performer of the Decade.

    This mud stinks
