Glorified BFCA. Just more Oscar predictions dressed up as preference

When you realise out of the 20 categories that also exist at the Oscars, 18 had winners that lead our odds and the other two are the presumed runner-ups. Colour me surprised.

Not surprising the winners are boring when original choices weren’t available/nominated. I guess a new team is involved as at least last year there were some inspiring options

    FYC:

Virginie Efira, Charlotte Rampling, Lambert Wilson, Benedetta (Actress, Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor)

Jim Broadbent, Helen Mirren, The Duke (Actor, Supporting Actress)

We need a jury to select the nominees so we have better options.

I assume that the chicago 7 voters arent chatters since I see very little support for that on these forums

I’m always amazed how often these end up being carbon copies with the Oscars.

Like, I don’t see that many people on here who express that they loved Laura Dern in MARRIAGE STORY and yet she won last year.

And with TRIAL winning Ensemble? Ugh…

Let’s face it – these winners are predictable, boring, and very sheep-like. Almost like predictions for the actual thing. If other people would be front-runners, they would have won. Like I don’t buy it that the majority of people on this site think that Trial has the Best Cast. Husavik is like the ultimate fan favorite in most places, too, yet here it lost out to the front-runner song. Pretty sure there are more Hopkins supporters than Boseman supporters as well.
