I’m fine with Kidman being snubbed but why did it have to be in favor of an equally good-but-not-great performance (Alana Haim)? Penelope Cruz and Tessa Thompson were tight there 💀

Penélope Cruz wasn’t even top10 girl…💀😭 the disrespect wbk

DISCLAIMER: The awards literally do reflect the predictions of GD users. In fact, almost 2,600 voted this year! Like wow. Huge thanks to everyone for participating.

Anyways, Mr. Marcus James Dixon have a good day I guess.

Very happy to see lots of love for films like Belfast, The Power Of The Dog, CODA, Tick, Tick…Boom!, and West Side Story. Some particular individual nominations I’m especially happy for include The Green Knight for Best Visual Effects, Tick, Tick…Boom! for Best Sound, The Rescue for Best Documentary Feature, and “So May We Start” for Best Original Song. Acting nominations I’m especially happy for include the ones for Caitriona Balfe, Andrew Garfield, Jessica Chastain, Ariana DeBose, Troy Kotsur, and Ciaran Hinds.

Of course, with the good, there’s also the bad. I knew Jude Hill had probably no chance of getting a Best Actor nomination for Belfast (I personally did nominate him in first place), but him missing out on Breakthrough Performer? Come on now! He gives what is easily one of the best child actor performances of the 21st century. I haven’t seen a child performance this good since Jacob Tremblay in Room. Also missing out on acting nominations were Denzel Washington for The Tragedy Of Macbeth and Marlee Matlin for CODA. It would’ve also been nice to see Emilia Jones get a Best Actress nomination for CODA too in addition to her Breakthrough Perofmer nomination. And while The Green Knight’s visual effects nomination is well-deserved, it’s a shame it couldn’t get any other love anywhere else, as I think it ranks among A24’s top 10 films they’ve ever made.

I actually would have loved The Worst Person In The World to have got Cinematography.

    Simon Rex ❤

I also love the unexpected Alana Haim nomination even though this forum didn’t like LP that much. I may predict her for the Oscars just based on that lol she’s charming af in the movie

I appreciate your obedience to your country legal system.

I guess we should bring Laura Linney stans to counter them.

Not No Way Home actually making it into Visual Effects over The Suicide Squad here as well. Disgusting!

I expected this forum to be one of the few places to have a lot of recognition for non-english films. Disappointed in that regard.
