My favorite part of this video was the discussion of costumes! To think, Sandy Powell and Cate Blanchett will most likely win out either way. They did it with The Aviator. And Cate is getting the Lacoste Spotlight Award at CDGA this month. Lots of love to go around.

I am sure all the attention goes to Carol or Cinderella, but looking clearly, Paco Delgado has a huge change to win this category. I am not designer not especilist in this matter but the Art Direction and Costumes in The Danish Girl are the cinematography Revenant has, they are oustanding.

I’m sticking with Cinderella as my prediction. I just had a fleeting thought during the discussion with Anne that — maybe — Danish Girl could pull off an upset. But now I have since come to my senses.

I dont think I’d want to go against a woman’s instinct and intuition (HA!). A woman like Anne especially.

I had originally gone with TDG for Costume, but I’ve switched to Carol. Cinderella? Aside from the coachmen/mice costumes the step-sisters are dressed like Sally Hawkins; at least interesting. I’d rather see Carol win here, than that standard, nothingnew Cinderella.

    Go George!

Tom, I’m actually getting “The Dutchess”/”Anna Karenina”/”The Young Victoria” vibes from “The Danish Girl,” so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if your initial hunch proves correct.

I think Costumes really is one of the few categories this year where any of the five nominees can prevail. Even “The Revenant” may win if it winds up sweeping.

Kris Tapley is predicting Danish Girl. Could happen. Also let me thank you for making Anne a constant contributor this year. It’s the best thing to happen in the Oscar-related sites this season. She has great insight and thoughts
