Dear Academy, make this ceremony exciting again! Make voting in all categories preferential. It will give us exciting winners. Or even better make it exclusive, do not let anyone vote for all categories. Make it voting by branch. But the most important thing is make it all preferential. Who’s with me?

If this happened, we wouldn’t have Emma Stone or Jennifer Lawrence winning.

Exactly. That’s why I want it. Badly.

I wouldn’t be so sure of that. Also having only the branches voting for the winners sets up a whole new set of potential problems, like cronyism.

I agree completely. We could’ve had Isabelle Huppert vs. Natalie Portman, literally either or would’ve been the worlds greatest choice. We could’ve avoided ugly wins like Goop or Jlaw.

The popularity train route of awarding people seriously needs to die out and give the people who deserve an Oscar a chance to win. Just because someone is young and hot popular doesn’t mean they deserve an Academy Award.

Damn. it’s time for them to clean house and start from scratch.

So let it be just preferential and see what results we get for couple years.

Emma stone probably would have still won, Portman and Huppert were too cold for many voters. The only people who really hated Stone were idiots on this forum.

Absolutely not true. If you talk to people who weren’t brainwashed by that stupid movie you’d see there were more people who liked the other actresses who were nominated, and two who were snubbed (ahem: AMY ADAMS AND TARAJI P HENSON).

OBVIOUSLY, finally a fellow Derbyite who isn’t crazy! Good to meet you pulp50! 😀

Note to myself: Don’t ever feed the trolls. Don’t get involved in others drama. Don’t let myself be swayed by others predictions, trust my gut more often!

Note to all others: If you don’t happen to like me, ignore me. It is that simple.

Emma’s acting was light compared to other nominees but her role was demanding. She sing, dance and act.

Amazed that you gotten this far without finding out about the Best Picture mishap.

Preferential votes would still have Emma winning,  she got the popular vote (the most ranked 1st). I doubt Emma was on #4/5 when Meryl and Ruth are there with films we forgot existed.

How about all categories back to the popular vote. It’s like having an electoral college for Best Picture.
