Like Adam Sandler who got the role for Uncut Gems (which was an amazing role) before that role, he was a joke of an actor and released some of the worst movies that pushed his style of comedy to the point where he wasn’t funny. He started out strong and as time rolled on his movies became nothing but an hour and a half of cringing. Then Uncut Gems came and turned into his ultimate redemption role and made him relevant again. Even though he wasn’t up for any Oscars, he still performed and that doesn’t go unnoticed.
Which Actor or Actress do you think needs a redemption role?
I think if you get her the right role with actors alongside her, Julia Roberts could do something amazing. She hasn’t really had a hit movie since Oceans 11 which was in like in 2001. Yes I know she did awesome in Wonder but how many awards was she nominated for in that movie? If im not mistaking her last nomination was for the AARP Grownup Movie award. So, in conclusion, I think if you put her around the right cast and directors then Julia Roberts could have that redemption movie that she deserves.
What about you? Who do you think deserves that redemption role.

February 20, 2020 at 1:16 pm #1203354097I know Melissa McCarthy got nominated last year but I wish in the future for her to be in movies like Can You Ever Forgive Me than her usual flops that gives her razzies. Hopefully the fact that she got nominated for that steers her in the right direction

JLaw (she disappeared after being the awards queen of the early decade so she’s up for redemption)

I want Jennifer Aniston to get more roles, i still support her Cake performance and find it heartbreaking, and just this year she won the SAG for The Morning Show, she can keep it up.
And Sarah Paulson NEEDS a good movie that benefits her, because all the movie roles she gets are supporting the true supporters.

I feel like I haven’t see Jodie Foster in anything big in awhile. And Michael Fassbender and Jake Gyllenhaal in anything worthy of their talent.

February 21, 2020 at 2:31 am #1203354743This might not be a redemption per se, but I want to see Taylor Swift try something with a bit more acting. Maybe a visual album or maybe a side role where she can chew on a good scene or two. I think her acting legacy being just Cats, Valentine’s Day, and The Lorax is a little weak, given she can do some emoting in her songs that’s pretty good (her performance in Style, Blank Space, Delicate, or Getaway Car suggest she’d be a solid actress if given the right role).

February 21, 2020 at 7:09 am #1203354974Halle Berry for second Oscar. I feel that she was too vilified for that first win and that hurt her career. Redemption 4 Halle.
