I was just curious about what other awards junkies were listening to or reading during awards season! I listen to podcasts at work and at lunch all the time and was wondering if there are other sources/journalists I could listen to. I prefer videos or podcasts but I would be interested in written material as well! I’m sure a lot of us listen to the same stuff, but it would be really cool if there were other good sources that I’m missing.

Here are some of my favorites:
    – AwardsCircuit Podcast- Clayton Davis
    – Tom O Neil vs Oscar Expert Showdowns- Gold Derby videos
    – Next Best Picture Podcast- Matt Neglia
    – The AwardsWatch Forum
    – Collider FYC videos- Scott Mantz and Co.

And of course GoldDerby’s forum literally all the time every day. Interested to see what you all will share!

Goldderby, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter are usually pretty trustworthy.

Do Variety and Hollywood Reporter have videos or podcasts? Or is it just articles?

I’ve never visited Clayton’s site or listened to his podcasts, but I’ve heard that he’s usually way off the mark in his predictions.

AwardsWatch forum is SJW Central. Most of the regulars must be young and naive.

Sasha has a meltdown on her site whenever the films/actors that she’s championing don’t win an Oscar. And her posts are usually all about race and women’s issues. I’ve browsed her site for years. And while her posts typically annoy me, it’s good to see that nowadays some users call her out on her SJW mentality.

I listen to Next Best Picture pretty religiously all year. I used to listen to Awards Circuit (Circuit Breaker) quite a bit but I haven’t in about six months because I find that as a whole the group tends to be very negative and will pick a movie each season and just bash it over and over. I find Matt and company at Next Best Picture will say they don’t like something and then just let it go not have to reiterate every chance they get why they hate it. I listen to Sasha from time to time but as someone said above if the movie she champions isn’t in the conversation she will complain about “awards season” and threaten that next year she’s not predicting, it gets old.

Podcasts- Little Gold Men (Vanity Fair), Awards Chatter (The Hollywood Reporter), IndieWire Screen Talk, Gold Derby. Most of these interview people as well as make predictions, etc.

Websites- Awards Watch, Gold Derby, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, IndieWire

Technical branch. He loved Green Book, A Star Is Born, BlacKkKlansman and Cold War. Liked First Man and Roma. Had mixed feelings about The Favourite and Vice. Didn’t care for Bohemian Rhapsody although he liked Malek. He planned to vote for Stefani Germanotta if she gets nominated because ‘she’s a lovely talented girl’ but I told him if he won’t vote for Olivia I will never speak to him even if he’s on his deathbed.

Did you uncle respond to your statement saying that he might outlive you?
