Not going to make a huge list but in a just world we’d be seeing noms for The Last Duel (Comer, screenplay, picture, directing), a Best Actress nom for Renate Reinsve and Emilia Jones (which BAFTA has fixed), a Best Actor nom for Adam Driver in Annette (which Cesars have fixed), the majority of the international film nominees should be nominated for Best Picture, and Summer of Soul should be in Best Picture as well (if docs were eligible – Questlove should also be in the periphery of the director conversation).

And personally some kind of acknowledgement for Shiva Baby because it was awesome.

I was so tempted to nominate The Lost Daughter here because of Olivia Colman’s dance and her falling on the beach.

Not my personal choices (I’d probably substitute The French Dispatch, Macbeth for Petite Maman, Nine Days, maybe Prayers for the Stolen instead of…Mass perhaps)… But this is what a lineup SHOULD look like imo. 👏🏼 Pig, Passing, The Lost Daughter, The Card Counter… oof, all of them are SERVES.
