We all have our favorite actor/actress in movies/tv show and are always happy when they are tearing up the screen. However none our favs have filmography that are free from shit piles they’ve done. What is the worst movie/role that your favorite has done and you were like why?
ReplyApril 4, 2017 at 2:42 pm #1202055162I’ll state mine.
Naomi Watts – Diane.
She should fire her agent for recommending her to do this movie. Flop Oscar bait at its worst.

And I am torn between Robin Hood (What was the point of this movie, exactly? So uncreative) and The Monuments Men (I was actually looking forward to that movie and was a complete disappointment and waste of time)
ReplyCopy URLApril 5, 2017 at 6:28 am #1202055994Lea Seydoux — Diary of a Chambermaid. Let’s just say that there’s a reason most adaptations don’t follow the source material, it has not aged well and is full of values dissonance, so even though it’s a pretty faithful adaptation it comes off very unsympathetically. Not to mention it’s full of French filmmaking staples I don’t particularly favor.
Saoirse Ronan — Hanna, something I found pretty lame and stupid, also the start of Joe Wright going off the deep end (which will hopefully end with Darkest Hour, pls).
Buster Keaton — pretty much anything after he lost creative control.
Daniel Bruehl — After some solid movies, his recent Hollywood turn has now become sort of filled with shit, which is a shame as he’s one of the best German actors working today. Burnt was bad but at least had good food in it… The Face of An Angel was irredeemable.

Kate Winslet-The Life of David Gale didnt like the movie at all

April 5, 2017 at 6:56 am #1202056038Helena Bonham Carter – Keep the Aspidistra Flying (horrible Orwell adaptation that Orwell would have hated. No more romantic comedies!)
Natalie Portman – Star Wars: A Phantom Menace (it’s her worst movie that she’s been in but Attack of the Clones is her worst performance.)
ReplyCopy URLApril 5, 2017 at 8:16 am #1202056332Natalie Portman – attack of the clones (cliche love scenes that were soo cringy even when i watched it as a kid)… and the emporium movie. whatever the hell was she thinking.
Mario Cotillard – batman.

Haven’t seen this, but this can’t be worse than The Host right?

Imma leave Star Wars out of this because itd be too easy. I have no idea why this movie tried so hard for the audience to sympathize with a homewrecker. The whole movie is just a hot mess, avoid at all cost even if it’s on Netflix for your convenience.
Jude Law – All the King’s Men
Movie is shit. Makes batman vs superman look like a best picture winner and classic. Watch the original, not this remake

Jesus — I forgot about The Host. Or blocked it from my memory including her involvement. A victim of rearing a cash cow for the YA novel-to-film trend.
I, personally, LOVED Hanna! And her in it! The score was amazing, she was incredible, Cate Blanchett was fantastic, and Eric Bana gave his best performance. Also was such a beautiful movie.
I just could not get on board with it — it felt to me like some edgy ™ YA novel. I will agree that it was (aesthetically) beautiful because Joe Wright films have master-class cinematography and scores — and Blanchett was great as usual.

I was just randomly thinking of this film the other day. So oddly satisfying to see such blatant Oscar bait utterly flop with just about every audience.
At least BvS provided shirtless workout scenes.
