I’d probably be OK with any musical remake although that doesn’t mean I don’t wish they’d just, leave some of them alone.

So who’s got the confidence to reenvision:
The Wizard of Oz
Fiddler on the Roof
Oliver!
All That Jazz (not Chicago)
Cats (this one could be left alone for a while)

The Sunne in Splendour.
I prefer my roses white

I think anything that’s based on theater should be encouraged to be remade, if done well. As West Side Story reminded us (or me at least), what’s so great about theater is that it is constantly being revived and reimagined to speak to the current moment in time. Spielberg and Kushner found a way to use West Side Story to say something new about the time the new version is made, and if anyone feels like they can really do that with a musical that’s already been made into a movie, I wish them nothing but luck.
