So, in the middle of all the buzz over what the winner is in some categories, I want to focus on smaller victories. The sort of nominations that you just feel good to see. The kind of nominations that you just feel happy that they even happened.

For me, the nominations I would most love to see are Willem Dafoe in The Lighthouse and Weathering With You in Best Animated Feature, which are both semi-likely but not guaranteed. Of the more likely outcomes, Parasite getting a Best Picture nomination would be great!

    For Your Consideration:

Best Picture: Weathering With You, Parasite, The Lighthouse
Best Actor: Robert Pattison - The Lighthouse
Best Supporting Actor: Willem Dafoe - The Lighthouse
Best Animated Feature: Weathering With You, Promare
Best International Film: Weathering With You, Parasite

Parasite for Best Picture + Director and Shuzhen Zhao for supp. actress would top the cake for me. Asian representation from the academy would be so appreciated.

It probably won’t happen considering how packed Best Actor is this year. But, I would love to see Taron Egerton be nominated. His performance is far superior than Rami’s
