Just so shocking given that she couldn’t make it in with the Globes who love her more than anyone else.

Arrival actually won for sound editing. Hacksaw Ridge won for sound mixing.

Deadpool getting in at PGA and WGA.April 13, 2017 at 8:45 am #1202065472Fantastic Beasts winning Costume Design.
I’d always had doubts about Jackie winning Costumes, even though I ended up predicting it in the end. My initial observation about the Costume Oscar regularly going to films with crowd scenes held true; I was just backing the wrong crowd-scene film (La La Land). I might have predicted Fantastic Beasts to win if I’d thought enough Academy members were watching it, although Bafta complicated things further by awarding it for Production Design but not Costumes.

I came very close to predicting FFJ myself, so the shock was not that Jackie lost, but that Fantastic Beasts won. I still can’t explain it myself. FFJ/LLL/Jackie vote-splitting?
