I could see this going all the way to SAG. Globes won’t produce a front runner since Ronan will get a boost from a Comedy win.

This is the most exciting category.

I doubt that the Globes award McDormand because she is not going to kiss up to them.  But maybe Streep takes the Globe because they want a speech from her and then McDormand takes SAG, along with the rest of what jf123 proposed.  Going one step further, Sally Hawkins could take Critics’ Choice.  A five-way split seems pretty plausible actually.  Poor Jessica Chastain.

When Streep will give a rousing speech then it’s all over for those deserving.

Can you actually see The Post instead of assuming she won’t deserve it?

Robbie is NOT winning before Ronan. She doesn’t have a previous nom that justifies her credibility just yet – Ronan does. That said, I can see both getting in at the Oscars.

Robbie is the biggest “movie star” in the category. The globes love that (assuming the GG is what you are referring to)

I was actually talking about the Oscars. I should’ve been more clear.

If SAG and BAFTA has the same winner then there’s a frontrunner.

If ever they have different winners then that would be exciting.

I didn’t know first time nominees couldn’t win Oscars. Would you look at that, you learn a new information here every other day. I wonder what the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Eddie Redmayne, Brie Larson, Patricia Arquette, J.K. Simmons, Mahershala Ali, Mark Rylance, Jared Leto, Alicia Vikander, Lupita N’yongo etc would think about this brand new information.

Brie Larson and Alicia Vikander carried Short Term 12 and Ex Machina, respectively, won awards for it and were considered (by many) snubbed at the Oscars.

Patricia Arquette and Lupita N’yongo (they were supporting, it’s a different ball game than Leading, whether you care to admit or not but since you brought it up) were in BP frontrunner and BP winner, while I, Tonya is not.

The only thing Robbie has to back her up is The Wolf of Wallstreet, for a supporting role, that did not even make it to any precursor.

So, pardon me for believing that she isn’t winning over Ronan who has better track record, especially in a year full of stronger alternatives.
