As of now these are all the living men with 2 Oscars who are still currently working.
ReplyApril 28, 2021 at 9:59 am #1204233422The Tragedy of Macbeth will be Washington’s third coronation. 7th nod in Best Actor, 9th acting nod, 10th overall nomination since he has a producer nod for Fences.
ReplyCopy URLApril 28, 2021 at 10:48 am #1204233493Denzel Washington is possible with The Tragedy of Macbeth depending on how that turns out.
Robert De Niro is possible if he keeps making films like The Irishman and since he’s working with Martin Scorsese again in Killers of the Flower Moon he could have another chance.
Tom Hanks seems to get snubbed constantly so despite him always having good performances I feel like he’s need to do something completely different and be undeniable to win
Anthony Hopkins just got back to back nominations in his 80’s so anything’s possible honestly I wouldn’t count him out
Mahershala Ali I wouldn’t totally rule out of a third win but after winning two so close together I think he might be like Tom Hanks and need to deliver something undeniable
Christoph Waltz I doubt will win another at this point but could get another nomination or two
Sean Penn I don’t think will win again, I find it a little surprising he has two wins already
Dustin Hoffman seems unlikely to win again at this point, unless he has a good supporting part or something
Michael Caine also seems highly unlikely to with the type of work he’s currently doing, also him being the oldest one here means its very unlikely

Since BAFTA is jury committee for nominations he should benefit for a first nod with them.

Macbeth is his best chance. It’s a role and subject matter bafta voters will love. So if he doesn’t get a nomination this time it’s never happening lol

Then as the runner-up, DeNiro could snag a third one with the upcoming Flower Moon (the part of William Hale seems pretty baity). Also i read somewhere that he’s teaming up for a Rockfeller film with O’Russell, so, the possibilities are there for him.
ReplyCopy URLApril 28, 2021 at 6:14 pm #1204234177I still don’t know why De Niro missed for The Irishman playing the titular role for 3 hours and 3o minutes of the film and still missing is pretty bad when 2 of your costars made it in supporting.

April 28, 2021 at 6:19 pm #1204234186All of them could do it but I’ll go with status, therefore Denzel. His biggest threat was BAFTAs, but now that they’re juried he can have his first nom/win.
