Lakeith Stanfield is just waiting for the right role to propel him into superstardom

    FYC:

Best Actress: Viola Davis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom)
Best Actor: Anthony Hopkins (The Father)
Best Supporting Actress: Ellen Burstyn (Pieces of a Woman)
Best Supporting Actor: Leslie Odom Jr. (One Night in Miami)

‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ could be that role to do that

Exactly!!! I’m def more excited about his future out of everyone on this list. He’s arguably on one of the best streaks of recent memory imo with:

Sicario/Get Out/Black Panther/Widows/ Queen and Slim/ and next up Judas and the Black Messiah

Dev Patel. It’s very rare to see British Asians have a lot of success in film and as someone who is British Asian I’m glad to see someone who looks like me and is one of the most talented actors of his generation get what he deserves. Hoping he wins an Oscar soon because I think he should have won for Lion and been nominated for Slumdog Millionaire.

To me it’s very weird how him amd Hoult are in this list because they’ve been acting since they were teenagers in successful films/TV. It’s also quite funny how 3 actors in this poll are from Skins UK.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", AMANDA SEYFRIED FOR "MANK", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Also so happy to see how far they came since then (Patel, Kaluuya, Hoult)!

It’s actually funny because I consider Hoult more like a less famous Kirsten Dunst or an Abigail Breslin considering how he appeared in the co-lead role of a Golden Globe nominated film when he was a child.

Hoult is due for a major breakout role. I consider him a big actor, but I don’t think he’s gotten THAT one role that can display how good he really is excluding his performance in ‘The Favourite’ which he got snubbed for imo.

Well I think Hoult is winning the Emmy for The Great next year so I’m sure his first Oscar nom is around the corner.

Two Skins boys winning in the same year would be a dream (Hoult winning the Emmy and Kaluuya winning the Oscar).

I said before, but I think Nicholas Hoult is like a modern Paul Newman, an hunk with the leading man looks and character actor chops (Mad Max Fury Road, Tolkien, The Favourite).

I can see him rising to the top above everyone in this list with the right role.
