Believe it or not, 7 Oscar nominations seem to be the most an actress can get. There are only 4 actresses who could actually surpass this record: Meryl Streep – 21, Katherine Hepburn – 12, Bette Davis – 10, Geraldine Page – 8. Who will be the first next one to surpass this record?July 31, 2019 at 8:46 am #1203003795
All of them except Fonda.July 31, 2019 at 8:52 am #1203003803
All of them except Fonda.
Key word “first next”. All of them, including Jane Fonda can score an 8th nod some time in there life, but I doubt Jane will do it before the others. I think Cate can do it with Bernadette this year.July 31, 2019 at 9:39 am #1203003861
Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett easily will. If Fonda does more films I think she could get another nod. Judi Dench can with the right Film. I doubt they will nominate Close again
AMY ADAMS- Best Actress
The Boys in the Band- Jim Parsons/ScreenplayJuly 31, 2019 at 10:23 am #1203003922
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Close for Hillbilly Elegy or Sunset Boulevard or both.</p>July 31, 2019 at 10:34 am #1203003954
Thinking next year: Guessing Winslet (Ammonite) or Close (Hillbilly Elegy/Sunset Boulevard).
Have a great day if you see this!

Winslet if Ammonite comes out this year.
otherwise Glenn Close/Amy Adams (we all know she’s gonna cross 8 anyways)July 31, 2019 at 10:37 am #1203003966
Close will next year. Maybe Winslet too, if Ammonite is good and she’s raved. Blanchett doesn’t seem to working much on the film side lately. I could honestly see Amy Adams getting to 8 before Blanchett does at this rate.July 31, 2019 at 11:04 am #1203004000
Amy Adams is so likely. She almost had 7 but alas she was overlooked for Arrival. I can see more than 8 for Amy. Win or lose.July 31, 2019 at 12:44 pm #1203004129
Cate Blanchett is at that point in her career when she will get nominated for pretty much anything. Watch her get in this year even if Bernadette gets bad reviews.July 31, 2019 at 2:18 pm #1203004421
The boring Amy Adams has the biggest chance. I’m surprised you didn’t include her. She can cottail her way to a nomination since she doesn’t do movies without award chances.
Of those mentioned, I’d say Close cause she’s just a nomination away from achieving it. Winslet can try too.

Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet both haven’t been nominated since 2015, the year of Carol and Steve Jobs, respectively. Amy Adams has been nominated much more recently and made it very, very close in 2016, so I would say she might make it to 8 before Blanchett and Winslet.
