I’d love to see Jane Fonda return to the big screen & take a third, however unlikely that is to happen.
FYC EMMYS: THE CROWN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. OLIVIA COLMAN - D. ACTRESS & HBC - D. SUPP. ACTRESS) & IT’S A SIN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. LYDIA WEST - LIM. ACTRESS & KEELEY HAWES - LIM. SUPP. ACTRESS) & I MAY DESTROY YOU IN ALL CATEGORIESMarch 2, 2021 at 3:15 pm #1204077696
Maggie Smith has A German Life adapted by Christopher Hampton. I will be pushing her for sure.March 2, 2021 at 5:43 pm #1204078031
I think McDormand will get her 3rd for producing this year and that’s it. I don’t think she’s winning another one for acting.March 2, 2021 at 6:38 pm #1204078184
I need my Midwest girl Hilary Swank to make a comeback and win her 3rd.March 5, 2021 at 1:52 pm #1204086232
This decade I can see the following getting a third
I feel like Blanchett will wait a while, but will get there eventually
6th Place WGA 2021
12th Place VES 2021
61st Place BAFTA nominations 2021March 5, 2021 at 1:54 pm #1204086241
Renee Zellweger just needs a Best Picture vehicle and she’ll win a third. Her peers are obsessed with her lol.
FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")March 7, 2021 at 10:54 am #1204090275
Although she won’t win 3 acting awards, Emma Thompson has a shot at getting her total to three. She’s only 61, she’s got a lot left to do yet.
FYC EMMYS: THE CROWN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. OLIVIA COLMAN - D. ACTRESS & HBC - D. SUPP. ACTRESS) & IT’S A SIN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. LYDIA WEST - LIM. ACTRESS & KEELEY HAWES - LIM. SUPP. ACTRESS) & I MAY DESTROY YOU IN ALL CATEGORIESMarch 7, 2021 at 11:40 am #1204090412
Blanchett is the likeliest to win a third, almost a certainty I’d say, and is also the likeliest to win more than three, but I have a feeling she isn’t likely to win it soon.
I feel like Foster or McDormand are the safest picks for a win in the near future, given both have decent odds this year, and McDormand also has a strong chance for the Joel Coen Macbeth film next year. McDormand, like ClairesCrown mentioned above re: Emma Thompson, has a good chance to win a third Oscar as a producer of Nomadland this year too.March 8, 2021 at 12:21 pm #1204095603
Zellweger is really underrated. She can easily win a third, I hope she gets more interesting projectsMarch 23, 2021 at 3:38 am #1204152358
This is a wild thought of mine but what if the person who wins their 3rd Oscar first is actually Olivia Colman?
This is largely dependent on her winning either this year or for one of her upcoming projects over the next two to three years but if she’s very popular with both the British and American film industry. This woman is getting every British indie leading role possible like Glenda Jackson back in the day. And these roles are only getting baitier and garner attention simply on the basis of her name alone.
If she keeps up with her current career momentum I can see her winning a second in two to three years and then a third in ten to fifteen.

McDormand almost definitely will get there. She’s in the likely BP winner this year but she’s not winning a 3rd so quickly, and this just builds narrative for next year with Macbeth. And if she loses again, her narrative just keeps building Meryl-style in the late 2000s. Unless she stops working, McDormand will reach there in the next ~10 years imo.April 8, 2021 at 12:32 pm #1204186709
Sally Field has had a tremendous career and I think she deserved both her wins. She was my favorite to win Supporting Actress in 2012 and she was horribly snubbed for Forrest Gump. She was also worthy in Hello, Dottie. She was the original “America’s Sweetheart” before Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock.April 8, 2021 at 1:26 pm #1204186831
I think McDormand will get her 3rd for producing this year and that’s it. I don’t think she’s winning another one for acting.
She’s popular enough to win another for acting. Unlikely to do so this season because she just won a few years ago her 2nd.
