Now that the decade is about to end who do you think will represent it? Do we have a trinity like Streep-Close-Lange from the 80s?If so, which actresses are part of it?
Feel free to give a male trinity too but I think nobody cares about them.

Emma Stone – Natalie Portman – Amy Adams  perhaps?

Edit: I forgot about JLaw, she’s definitely apart of the trinity if there is one.

Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman, Emma Stone. I know you said trinity, but I just can’t decide who to take out.

Yeah I know, those four + Amy Adams + Streep (of course) are the big deal.I feel ok taking Cate and Meryl off given that they were bigger on previous decades.Cant decide between the four left.

Forgot about Meryl, definitely would’ve included her. If we’re taking off her and Cate, I’d say Amy is probably the next to go, if only because whatever her most iconic performance of the decade will be, either American Hustle or Arrival, will likely be overshadowed by the others. For Jennifer it’s either The Hunger Games or Silver Linings Playbook, Natalie Black Swan, and Emma La La Land.

I think it’s Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone and Saoirse Ronan.

For males (not that anyone here cares) I think are Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling and Eddie Redmayne.

Jennifer Lawrence – Emma Stone – Amy Adams

    (Also: Natalie Portman, Octavia Spencer)

Bradley Cooper – The Chrises (I’ll count that trinity as one) – Ryan Gosling

I feel like Viola will be more recognized for her work on HTGAWM.Octavia is a great choice, she’s like our Thelma Ritter.

    I’d say:

Meryl Streep for winning the third Oscar and holding up to the 21st nomination.

Cate Blanchett for giving a TRULY remarkable performance, best of the decade and imo third best this century behind Marion Cottilard and Ellen Burstyn.

Jennifer Lawrence for being the youngest best actress winner.

Also Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams for being nominated the most, tying with four.

Frances McDormand for joining the rare double best actress winner.

Four respected black actresses, Octavia Spencer, Lupita Nyong’go, Viola Davis and Regina King prevailing the supporting category and becoming more respected!

AND, most recently Olivia Colman for coming against all odds to win for a deserving performance (no offence to Glenn, I still prefer her to win).

That leads to Glenn Close, for experiencing the biggest loss of the decade, being the biggest loser and somehow managing to push future work immediately after this!

My final answer is : Emma Stone – Jennifer Lawrence – Amy Adams

Octavia and Natalie are next imo.
Every decade is Meryl’s decade so I’m not including her lol.

3 lead noms in each decade:
    2010s Streep, Lawrence
    2000s Streep, Dench, Winslet
    1990s Streep, Sarandon, Thompson
    1980s Streep, Spacek, Lange

Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman, Amy Adams, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, and Viola Davis seem to be the most obvious to me:
    – Blanchett and Portman gave at least two all-time best performances (Blue Jasmine/Carol, Black Swan/Jackie).
    – Adams continued to steam roll with her nominations count.
    – Stone and Lawrence became American darlings with blockbuster films and critical acclaim alike.
    – Davis broke down barriers and became the first black Triple Crown winner.

Other worthy women: Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie, Brie Larson, Scarlett Johansson, Nicole Kidman, and Lupita Nyong’o.

Interesting statistic.. Does anyone think we will have a third actress with 3 lead actress nominations this decade? Or not? There’s one year left to contend which leaves us with Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan, Michelle Williams and Glenn Close as possibilities. Although none of them could make it; it would depend on what film(s) they have coming out this year. Obviously Saoirse Ronan seems the most likely with Little Women, but only if that movie turns out to be really good.

Are we just gonna ignore Streep?
