    some numbers to help:

    Lawrence: 4 Oscar nominations and 1 win; have 3 movies nominated to BP; about 5,700,000.000 in Box office (worldwide);

    Stone: 3 Oscar nominations and 1 win; have 4 movies nominated to BP;  about 3,300,000.000 in box office (worldwide).

    as people said, both are definitively in top 3.

    fighting for the 3rd place:

    Adams: 4 Oscar nominations and 0 wins; have 5 movies nominated to BP;  about 3,300,000.000 in box office (worldwide).

    Spencer: 3 Oscar nominations and 1 win; have 3 movies nominates to BP; about 1,550,000.000 in box office (worldwide). i did not count the voice work (Zootopia);

    Willians: 3 Oscar nominations and 0 wins; have 1 movie nominated to BP; about 2,300,000.000 in box office

    Ronan: 3 Oscar nominations and 0 wins; have 3 movies nominated to BP; about 500,000.000 in box office (worldwide);

    Davis: 2 Oscar nominations and 1 win; have 3 movies nominated to BP; about 2,000,000.000 in box office (worldwide);

    Portman: 2 Oscar nominations and 1 win; have 1 movie nominated to BP; about 1,650,000.000 in box office (worldwide);

    Blanchett: 2 oscar nominations and 1 win; have 1 movie nominated to BP; about 4,300,000.000 in box office (worldwide). i did not count the voice works (How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Mowgli and also The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug because Box Office Mojo did not);

    we also have Scarlett Johansson, a box office machine, but ignored by awards and Streep.

    Portman was gone for most of the decade besides her Oscar nominations. Her role in the Thir films were forgettable.

    Her post win career has been on the path of Halle Berry and Gwyneth Paltrow. Nothing memorable.

    Lawson and Stone are the two obvious front runners. Stone more in the back-half, Lawson more in the front half. Second Tier: Ronan, Portman, Adams, Viola Third Tier: Michelle Williams, Chastain, Larson, Robbie, Octavia I expect Larson to make a big jump with her inclusion into the Marvel franchise over the next year, but for now she doesn’t have the ardor that Hollywood seemed to have for Emma and Jennifer at their peaks (Emma is currently still climbing).

    Why would Octavia be lower than Viola?

    Viola is mostly known for TV…

    viola has been a lead in a movie and won a Tony and Emmy (and an Oscar) for lead performances, while Octavia hasn’t done any of that.

    I see your point.

    Let’s see how Ma does.

    Portman being nominated for Jackie (and having a previous nom for Closer) alone distinguishes her above Berry and Paltrow. She may not be looking for blockbusters, but she has a respectable career outside of her Oscar nominated roles, considering she starred in V for Vendetta, Annihilation, and Vox Lux, on top of recognition for the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the Thor films.

    This is pretty comprehensive! I would also include Michelle Williams in this, though. She has received 3 Oscar nominations this decade (Blue Valentine, My Week with Marilyn, Manchester by the Sea), as well as starred in some box office successes- Oz the Great and Powerful, Venom, The Greatest Showman, I Feel Pretty, etc as well as being in indie movies such as Certain Woman, Meek’s Cutoff, etc. I’ll admit I might be slightly biased but I think she deserves to be in the top 10 of the decade considering she has a such a diverse filmography and is fairly consistently recognized for it.

    Scarlett’s movies have made nearly 10’000’000’000$ at the box office this decade which is… insane.

    However, it’s mostly thanks to Marvel and she always gets lost in a huge cast so idk how representative is this number.

    Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Amy Adams, Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett for me.

    Viola Davis, if you include TV acting as well.

    Scarlett Johansson and Octavia Spencer are mostly in supporting roles, and Scar Jo hasn’t been to good as lead, so hard to include them.

    For comparison’s her cast billing in each of her marvel films

    Iron Man 2 – 4th
    Avengers Assemble – 5th
    Captain America Winter Soldier – 2nd
    Avengers Age of Ultron – 5th
    Captain America Civil War – 3rd
    Avengers Infinity War – 5th
    Avengers Endgame – 5th

    If box office is a factor, Melissa McCarthy? >$1B in this decade alone most of which with her in lead and none a franchise.

    She also has 2 Oscar nominations this decade.
