Whoopi Goldberg, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer are the only black actresses with multiple Oscar nominations with one win each. Halle Berry was the first, and only black actress to win in Lead Actress. With both Ruth Negga and Jennifer Hudson being snubbed for nominations at this years ceremony which black actress will be fourth to join Whoopi, Viola and Octavia.
Diana Ross, Angela Bassett, Halle Berry, Gabourey Sidibe, Quvenzhané Wallis, Ruth Negga, Cynthia Erivo, Andra Day, Alfre Woodard, Margaret Avery, Oprah Winfrey, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Queen Latifah, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Hudson, Ruby Dee, Taraji P. Henson, Mo’Nique, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomie Harris, Mary J. Blige, Ariana DeBose, and Aunjanue Ellis are all nominated for one Acting category each.

I don’t know about Dune: Part Two, but I definitely think Zendaya will get nominated this decade.

Ray definitely should have been her first nomination. She murdered that role. But she was still very underrated as an actress back then and the industry didn’t start acknowledging her talent until the mid 2010s
She’ll easily get other nominations in the future though, no doubt about that
