Which is the better version of the West Side Story movies? 1961 or 2021? I like them both for different reasons. For me it’s hard to choose. But at the same time I’d have to go with 1961 cause it’s what I am more familiar with and fell in love with first. But 2021 is very good in my opinion as well.

The 2021 film version is a million times better – in every possible way. The 1961 version has so many defects – the dubbed performances that aren’t very good acting-wise, the delinquents who aren’t delinquents, the glossiness. This new version has it all and is imo the best movie musical I have ever seen in my life.

I was extremely skeptical before I saw the movie for many reasons. I didn’t think I would like it. But I have seen it five times so far and love every single minute of it!
