Which actors from Dune could get nominated if the film gets into Picture, Director and (maybe) Adapted Screenplay?

Right now, I think Rebecca Ferguson has a really good shot(although for some reason she’s missing from the prediction center). I also wouldn’t count out Chalamet completely, though he seems unlikely due to how crowed Best Actor is this year.

None will get nommed imo, but Ferguson I think would have the biggest shot?

Best Actor is waaay to crowded for Chalamet to get there.

Even if it’s a legitimate awards contender, actors are unlikely to go for this.

None but if it were to, maybe Charlotte Rampling? Unless she is literally in one scene, I’m not too familiar with the source material. But anyway, it doesn’t really have a chance to get in for acting at all.

None but it would be hilarious if Zendaya was the one to continue the trend of actors winning an Emmy and then Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

I see Dune being this year’s Dunkirk. It could probably dominate in technical categories, but no way is it getting any acting nominations.

FYC Oscars: Chloe Zhao (Nomadland), Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods), Mark Rylance (Trail of the Chicago 7), Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom), Soul (Best Picture, Best Animated Feature Film, and Best Original Screenplay)

FYC Grammys: Circles (Album of the Year), Good News (Record and Song of the Year), Future Nostalgia (Album of the Year), Don't Start Now (Record and Song of the Year), Everything I Wanted (Record and Song of the Year)

I actually don’t think Dune will do well at the Oscars at all…

Chalamet really threw away the momentum he could have gained from CMBYN by choosing the wrong projects. Wonder if he’s happier being a celebrity’s celebrity with swathes of tween girls on twitter who worship him instead of an actor’s actor like Saorise.

Saoirse is the queen of bad choices ; on chesil beach and the seagull two romantic dramatic films who came the same year who also starred the same actors. lately ammonite looks the sequel for little women , her character has the same hair.

tim has made more good choices and it has made him playing dune , that could bring him out of box office flop area unlike saoirse.

I’m not saying that she’s picked good projects, I’m saying she’s earned a reputation as an actor’s actor. Since Atonement, she’s been in plenty of great movies. She had 5 Oscar nominations by the age of 25. That is not the sign of someone prone to choosing bad projects. Her filmography is twice the size of Timothee’s, a fairly large one for someone so young, so it’s bound to have duds anyway. Some of the greatest actresses of the century have been in plenty of flops.

Poor Timothy tried all sorts of Oscar baity movies after CMBYN- Beautiful Boy, that one with Woody Allen that nobody saw, the King, and now Dune- all turned out badly for him and all were ignored by critics and the public.

And you have to be joking if you think Dune is going to bring him out of the box office bomb territory when it’s going to lose at least a hundred million for WB. It’s guaranteed to be one of the biggest flops in recent memory.

I agree with the latter statement but there hasn’t been anything particularly wrong with Chalamet’s choice of projects. He’s still working with reputable directors in prestige projects, it’s the way he and his team have chosen to present him that’s been troubling to me.
